Freezing weather "invades" Britain/ Schools are closed for the second day in a row

Parts of the UK will continue to be surrounded by snow and ice today with the potential for the country to experience its coldest night of the year for the second day in a row.

Authorities have issued a snow and ice warning covering northern Scotland and north-east England from midnight tonight until midday on Thursday.
