Situation in Kosovo/ Analyst: 90% was the relationship with Serbia, 10% internal

Political and international affairs analyst Avenir Peka commented today on the political situation in Kosovo, as a few hours ago this Sunday the new government cabinet collapsed.

Invited to "Euronews Albania", Peka said that until now, a division has dominated Kosovo politics, leaning towards the relationship with Serbia and the rest was focused on internal governance.

"Each of the main parties entered with their own candidate for prime minister. They knew that none of these parties would come out on top."

They have found consensus in opposing the creation of a coalition with Kurti, but I do not believe they will find it if the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, gives a mandate to someone to create a government, because they need to find a candidate for prime minister that they do not have. Secondly, they need to collect the votes that they do not have. Kurti cannot include the Serbs here because Kurti came to power by fighting them. This was his card.

In a party that gets over 50%, it is an anomaly. The anomaly of 51% is due to two elements: the dissatisfaction of Kosovo citizens with 20 years of governance by other parties and the playing of the nationalist card, whether with the association of Serbian municipalities or with political warfare.

In Kurti's policy as a government, 90% has been the relationship with Serbia, 10% has been internal governance, which has led to a conflict with internationals.

"The line that started differently from other parties is that Kurti did not know how to back down in order to create allies even among international factors, which he is against today," said Peka./CNA
