White House: War in Iran will result in lower gas prices

White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt issued a statement to the media today regarding the US military offensive in Iran. Leavitt stated that the US is making extraordinary strides towards achieving its military objectives.

"More than 5,000 enemy targets have been hit so far. Iran's ballistic missile attacks have decreased by more than 90%, and their drone attacks have decreased by approximately 85% ," she said.

Leavitt also said that the US military is now working to dismantle Iran's missile production infrastructure.

"Our incredible B-2 bombers dropped dozens of 2,000-pound penetrating bombs on deeply buried missile sites," she adds.

Among the issues the White House Secretary spoke about was the supply of oil from the Persian Gulf region.

She said that the recent increase in oil and gas prices is temporary and that this operation will result in lower gas prices in the long run.

Among other things, Leavitt said the US military is developing additional options following Trump's directive to keep the Strait of Hormuz open. She did not share details about what these additional options are, but said "you just have to know that the president is not afraid to use them." /CNA
