USA and Serbia, agreement on cooperation in the field of energy

Hand-held radios used for communication by the Hezbollah organization exploded on Wednesday afternoon in southern Lebanon and the outskirts of Beirut. This further increases tensions with Israel, after just a day earlier there were similar explosions of portable devices that the organization uses to send text messages to its members.
At least one of the explosions occurred near a funeral organized by Iran-backed Hezbollah for those killed a day earlier, when thousands of devices exploded across the country, leaving many wounded among the group's fighters.
The group, which was briefly thrown into chaos by yesterday's blasts, said on Wednesday it had attacked Israeli artillery positions with rockets, the first strike since blasts wounded thousands of the group's members in Lebanon and raised the prospect of a wider war in the Middle East.
The hand-held radios were bought by Hezbollah five months ago, around the same time as other communication equipment, a security official said.
Israel's Mossad intelligence agency, which has a long history of sophisticated operations abroad, planted explosives inside equipment imported by Hezbollah months before Tuesday's blasts, a senior Lebanese security official and another person said. for Reuters news agency.
The death toll rose to 12, including two children, Lebanese Health Minister Firass Abiad said on Wednesday. Tuesday's attack wounded around 3,000 people, including many fighters from the militant group, as well as Iran's ambassador to Beirut.
Hezbollah has vowed to retaliate against Israel, whose military declined to comment on the blasts. The sides have been involved in cross-border firefights since the conflict in Gaza erupted last October, fueling fears of a wider conflict in the Middle East./VOA
