The US places Russia on the list of countries involved in human trafficking

The United States on Tuesday placed Russia on its lists of countries involved in a "policy or pattern" of human trafficking, forced labor, and the use or recruitment of children by government-sponsored military forces.

The State Department included the lists in its annual report on human trafficking, which for the first time, based on a 2019 congressional mandate, included a "State-sponsored Trafficking in Persons" section.
