Schroeder and Putin talk about obstacles to gas supplies

Former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder, a friend of Russian President Vladimir Putin, said he is concerned about the energy crisis fueled by Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Schroeder has asked Putin to explain how he sees this situation and whether the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline can become operational.

The Kremlin said that at the meeting held last week, Putin and Schroeder discussed obstacles to gas supplies to Europe.

Several supplies to Europe have recently been cut off, and Moscow has blamed maintenance on a pipeline turbine.
