Resolution against Dick Marty/ The Council of Europe can draft a new report

The Council of Europe leaves open the possibility of drafting a new report on the claims of the former Swiss senator, Dick Marty, for the trafficking of human organs during the war in Kosovo.

In an official response to the media Free Europe, this institution confirms: The Assembly of the Council of Europe can decide to prepare and debate reports - including follow-up reports - on any topic that falls within the mandate of this Council.

This comes after the Albanian parliament passed a resolution to reject the accusations raised by Dick Marty's report. The document, approved by 125 votes, calls on the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe to compile a follow-up report and therefore a review of the resolution.

The 2010 report, drafted by Dick Marty and approved by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, claims that the leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army were involved in the trafficking of human organs during the 1998-99 war. This led to the formation of the Hague Special Court. /CNA.al
