Revista Time zgjedh Zelenskyn Person të Vitit

Presidenti ukrainas, Volodymyr Zelensky, gjatë një interviste të dhënë nga zyra e tij në Kiev më 9 prill 2022.

Revista Time e ka zgjedhur presidentin ukrainas, Volodymyr Zelensky, Person të Vitit, duke i dhënë këtë çmim për “faktin se guximi mund të jetë po aq ngjitës sa frika”.

Kryeredaktori i revistës, Edward Felsenthal, tha se zgjedhja e Zelenskyt – krahas “shpirtit të Ukrainës” – ishte zgjedhja e duhur.

“Pavarësisht nëse beteja për Ukrainën i jep dikujt shpresë apo frikë, bota marshoi në ritmin e Zelenskyt më 2022”, tha ai.

Zelensky, komedian i shndërruar në politikan, që u zgjodh president i Ukrainës më 2019. Ai ka punuar pa pushim që kur Rusia nisi pushtimin e Ukrainës më 24 shkurt, për të frymëzuar rezistencën e vendit të tij dhe për të fituar mbështetje ndërkombëtare për Kievin.

Felsenthal tha se vendimi i Zelenskyt “që të mos largohej nga Kievi, por të qëndronte dhe të punonte për fitimin e mbështetjes, ishte vendimtar”.

“Për të dëshmuar se guximi mund të jetë po aq ngjitës sa frika, për drejtimin e popullit dhe për bashkimin e tyre në mbrojtje të lirisë, për përkujtimin se demokracia është e brishtë, Volodymyr Zelensky dhe shpirti i Ukrainës zgjidhen Persona të Vitit për vitit 2022”, tha ai.

Revista Time po ashtu nderoi persona që përfaqësojnë shpirtin e Ukrainës. Këtu u përfshin inxhinieri Oleg Kutkov, i cili ndihmoi që Ukraina të vazhdonte të ishte e lidhur me botën, Olgea Rudenko, redaktore në Independent Kyiv dhe kirurgu britanik, David Nott.

Përzgjedhja e Personit të Vitit nga revista Time ka nxitur debate dhe shpesh edhe kundërthënie. Më 2021, Person i Vitit u shpall Elon Musk, njeriu më i pasur në botë. Ndërkaq, më 2020 ishte zgjedhur presidenti amerikan, Joe Biden, dhe nënpresidentja Kamala Harris./ REL
