The government imposes new protective measures for oil products

The Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade of Kosovo (MINT) on Tuesday decided other protective measures for oil products, as well as set their price for the next three months.

According to the new ruling, the maximum allowable wholesale trade margin is two cents per litre, while the maximum allowable retail trade margin is 12 cents per litre.

This decision entered into force today and will be valid for 90 days, MINT said.

MINT underlined in a press release that it took such a decision because it found "mismatches of local prices with large price movements in the world market".

"In order to protect the consumer, protect the competition and to avoid disturbances in the market, MINT has made a decision to set the price and other protective measures of oil products", the announcement states.

In Pristina, a liter of diesel currently costs between 1.35 and 1.45 euros.

MINT emphasized that the Central Market Inspectorate in cooperation with the Customs and Tax Administration will increase the supervision of the implementation of its decision, as well as the quality and quantity of oil products.

Prices and demand for oil have increased in international markets after the invasion of Ukraine by Russia in February 2022./ Rel
