Poland, tourist attraction for Czechs, record numbers in 2023

The number of Czech tourists visiting Poland during the summer has increased this year.

Data from travel agencies and local authorities show that tourists from the Czech Republic are flocking to Poland's Baltic Sea beaches. 

Some of Poland's travel agencies report an increase in tourists of up to 158 percent, marking a doubling of vacation bookings in Poland. This report received data from around 150 Czech and foreign travel companies.

According to representatives of the agencies, this increase comes from the fact that Poland offers a very beautiful nature and landscapes and the accommodation prices are relatively low.

As of 2023, a one-week stay in Poland for one person in nomad style costs €191.24, budget travel goes up to €224.25, medium travel around €341.28 and luxury travel costs €736.24.

Another factor is thought to be inflation, where Croatia, as one of the main tourist attractions, has switched from the kuna currency to the euro. Also, tourist agencies evaluate the infrastructure and say that the means of transport are very good in Poland.

The airport's data on arrivals in the country has also confirmed the increased interest of travelers to visit Poland, as it was reported that as of January 2023, over 6.5 million passengers registered at Chopin Airport in Poland.

Chopin is the busiest airport in Warsaw, where this year 63 percent of passengers traveled within the Schengen area, while 37 percent of passengers chose non-EU countries within the Schengen area.
