Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk on Wednesday accused Russia of planning acts of sabotage around the world, including "terrorist acts" against airlines. Tusk made the comments in Warsaw at a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

"I won't go into details, but I can confirm that there is a fear that Russia is planning acts of terror against airlines, not only against Poland, but around the world," he said.

The Kremlin rejected previous Western allegations that Russia has paid for acts of sabotage and attacks in Europe.

Western security officials suspect Russian intelligence is behind a series of plots to plant explosive devices on cargo planes flying to North America, including two planes that caught fire last year in Germany and England while loading packages for transport.

Poland's pro-EU government says Russia is carrying out acts of hybrid warfare against Poland and other Western countries in retaliation for their support for Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression.

Poland has accused Russia and its ally Belarus of fomenting a migration crisis on the EU's eastern border with Belarus in order to create chaos and division in Europe.

Last year, Poland's foreign minister ordered the closure of one of three Russian consulates in the country in response to acts of sabotage, including arson, that he said were ordered by Moscow.
