The Kosovo Police has announced that the reprimanding of drivers with illegal Serbian license plates will continue on November 21, while the imposition of fines will begin on November 22.

The issuing of fines of 150 euros, according to the Police, will last until January 21, 2023.

Until November 20, about 1,740 reprimands were issued to drivers of cars with illegal Serbian license plates.

Për çështjen e planit të qeverisë për riregjistrimin e makinave që kanë targa të lëshuara nga Serbia në RKS - Republika e Kosovës, të hënën në Bruksel pritet të zhvillohet një takim ndërmjet kryeministrit të Kosovës Albin Kurti dhe presidentit të Serbisë Aleksandar Vuçiq.

Qeveria e Kosovës ka nisur të zbatojë planin e saj nga 1 nëntori. Plani për riregjistrimin e makinave me targa të lëshuara nga Serbia ka paraparë tri faza .

Faza e parë përfshiu qortimin e shoferëve, e dyta parasheh gjobë deri në 150 euro për ata shoferë, dhe e treta targa provuese.

The implementation of this plan is expected to end on April 21, and from that date, it is foreseen that only cars with legal license plates, RKS, or the Republic of Kosovo, will be allowed on the road.

The decision on license plates has tensed the situation in the north of Kosovo.

Supported by official Belgrade, the majority of Serbs in the north oppose this process and insist on neutral license plates to the status of Kosovo.

As a result of the raised tensions, the northern Serbs have resigned from the institutions of Kosovo - from the police to the Assembly and the Government./ REL
