British police on Friday identified the two people who were killed during the attack on the synagogue in Manchester.
According to authorities, Adrian Daulby, 53, and Melvin Cravitz, 66, were killed on Thursday. Both were local residents.
They were killed after a man drove his car into pedestrians and then began stabbing people outside the Hebrew Congregation Synagogue, Heaton Park, in the Krumpsall district of northern England.
Authorities identified the suspected attacker as Jihad al-Shamie, 35, a British citizen of Syrian descent, who was shot dead by police at the scene.
"Our deepest condolences to the families of Mr. Daulby and Mr. Cravitz," Police Chief Lewis Hughes said in a statement.
British authorities have described it as a terrorist incident and after the event, police announced that they had arrested two people.
The attack occurred as Jewish believers were marking the holiday of Yom Kippur.
