Through the referendum, the voters remove the mayor of Frankfurt

Voters in Frankfurt have ousted the city's mayor, who is facing a corruption trial.

Authorities said 95.1 percent of participants in Sunday's referendum voted to oust Peter Feldmann, a member of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz's Social Democratic Party.

Feldmann had been chairman of Frankfurt - Germany's main financial center - for ten years.
