Pas samitit në Kinë/ Tajvani i kërkon Trump-it të miratojë marrëveshjen e armëve

Qeveria e Tajvanit u ka kërkuar Shteteve të Bashkuara të Amerikës që të miratojë paketën e fundit të armëve për ishullin vetëqeverisës.

Presidenti Donald Trump tha për "Fox News" të premten, pasi përfundoi samitin me presidentin e Kinës, Xi Jinping, se nuk kishte vendosur ende për shitjet e ardhshme të armëve për Tajvanin.

"Mund ta bëj. Mund të mos e bëj", tha Trump kur u pyet për çështjen.

Në dhjetor, administrata Trump miratoi një paketë rekord shitjeje armësh prej 11 miliardë dollarësh (9.46 miliardë eurosh) për Tajvanin.

Mediat ndërkombëtare, përfshirë agjencinë e lajmeve "Reuters" dhe "The New York Times", kanë raportuar se një marrëveshje e dytë, me vlerë rreth 14 miliardë dollarë, është ende në pritje të miratimit të Trump-it.

Zëvendësministri i Jashtëm i Tajvanit, Chen Ming-chi, tha më herët të shtunën se Tajvani do të vazhdojë të komunikojë me SHBA-në për të kuptuar situatën nga ana e Uashingtonit. Ai nuk pranoi të komentojë për paketën e dytë sepse ajo nuk është bërë ende publike. /CNA
