The UN extends EUFOR's mandate in Bosnia

The Security Council of the United Nations has approved a resolution for the extension for one more year of the mandate of the peacekeeping and security mission of the European Union in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The resolution was approved on November 2 by a unanimous vote.

Known as EUFOR Althea, the mission consists of around 1,100 soldiers from 20 countries that have been deployed in Bosnia since 2004, and the mission's mandate has been extended each year.

This year, this mission's mandate expired on November 3.
