All the miners who were trapped in the Trepca Mine have been brought to the surface.

The news was confirmed for Radio Free Europe by the head of the Trepca Workers' Union, Ibrahim Jonuzi.

He emphasized that in the early hours of the morning of April 10, about 40 miners were trapped in the Trepça Mine, which is located in Stantërg, near Mitrovica.

“Që nga ora 3 e mëngjesit, minatorët kanë mbetur të ngujuar në horizontin e 1, për shkak të një defekti të energjisë elektrike në ashensor”, ka deklaruar Jonuzi për Radion evropa e Lirë. Ky horizont gjendet rreth 900 metra nën tokë.

Jonuzi ka theksuar se minatorët, janë nxjerrë nga miniera përmes formës alternative, gjegjësisht, përmes rrugës prej ku nxirren mineralet, në formë mekanike dhe jo përmes ashensorit.

Ai ka theksuar se minatorët që ishin të ngujuar, pas daljes, përveç shqetësimit të përgjithshëm, nuk kanë shprehur shqetësim shëndetësor.

Në vendin e ngjarjes, sipas tij, kanë qenë të pranishëm pjesëtarët e Policisë së Kosovës, drejtuesit e “Trepçës”, ekipet e emergjencës dhe ekipet mobile për nxjerrjen e minatorëve të ngujuar.
