The non-implementation of the agreement on the normalization of tensions cancels

There will be nothing, at the moment, regarding the donors' conference for Kosovo and Serbia, which was planned in the agreements between the leaders of the two states in Brussels and Ohrid, Radio Free Europe (REL) learns from a source in Brussels.

The member countries of the European Union (EU) agree that at the moment there is no room for discussions on the organization of the donors' conference for Kosovo and Serbia, which was foreseen in the Agreement on the normalization of relations, reached by the leaders, on February 27 in Brussels and in the Implementation Annex that was agreed on March 18 in Ohrid.

The text of the agreement provided for the organization of the donors' conference, 150 days after reaching the agreement, in order to create a financial package for Serbia and Kosovo, but the payment would be made only after it was established that all points of the agreement have been implemented.

Since neither party has implemented any of the points, at the moment there is no disposition to hold the donors' conference, REL learns in Brussels.

On this occasion, the representatives of several EU member states emphasized that the responsibility for the removal from the agenda of the plans for the donor conference belongs to both parties, because neither Kosovo nor Serbia have started implementing the agreements from Ohrid and Brussels. .

When it comes to Kosovo alone, the EU states warned of "symbolic" measures against Pristina, as the EU and United States envoys, in the report they submitted, assessed the talks with the Prime Minister of Kosovo as "difficult" extension of the situation in the north of Kosovo.

The officials of the cabinet of the special representative of the European Union (EU) for dialogue, Miroslav Lajçak, have submitted the report to the diplomats of the EU member countries, for their visit to Pristina and Belgrade. Lajcak stayed there this week with the American envoy for the Western Balkans, Gabriel Escobar.

As several sources present at the discussion confirmed for REL, due to the failure to take steps towards extension, the only immediate measure that can be taken in the near future against the Kosovo authorities is the cancellation of the meeting between the European Commission and Kosovo in a subcommittee within the Stabilization and Association Agreement.

The possible cancellation of this meeting would be a way to express Brussels' displeasure towards Pristina, due to non-compliance with international requirements regarding the escalation of the situation in the north of Kosovo./ REL
