Largest US climate legislative package passes

The Democrat-led US House of Representatives on Friday approved a $430 billion bill that is seen as the largest climate package in US history.

It marks a major legislative victory for President Joe Biden ahead of the Nov. 8 congressional elections.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi called it "a huge victory for American families."

The legislation, which includes funding to fight climate change and lower prescription drug prices, aims to reduce the amount of greenhouse gases released into the country.
