$95 aid package approved for Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan

The US Senate has approved a $95 billion aid package that includes military support for Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan.

President Joe Biden is expected to sign the legislation into law on Wednesday.

The Senate on Tuesday evening supported the measure passed by the US House of Representatives on Saturday.

It includes $61 billion in military aid to Ukraine, which the Pentagon says could begin flowing to the war-torn country within days.

Reacting to the vote, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said it reinforces America's role as a beacon of democracy and leader of the free world.

Also approved was $26.4 billion in military support for Israel, with $9.1 billion of that allocated for humanitarian aid to Gaza.
