The Ministry of Health in Kosovo announced on Saturday that the decision to limit working hours for some social categories, due to high temperatures, ends on July 20.

Kosovo and the entire Balkan region have faced temperatures of almost 40 degrees Celsius in recent days.

The Ministry has said that the forecasts for the next week are for temperatures that do not pose a risk for vulnerable categories.

The Ministry has said that it has consulted with the National Institute of Public Health and the Hydrometeorological Institute, and that it will continue to monitor the climate situation.

The decision taken on July 13, included pregnant women, who were released from work, or were enabled to work from home.

Workers with chronic diseases have been asked to work with reduced hours, up to four days, while construction work, in open spaces, has been prohibited from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

However, during the week, Radio Evropa e Lire encountered some construction companies in Pristina that did not respect the decision.
