Kurti and Vucic meet in Brussels on February 27

The EU's high representative for foreign policy and security, Josep Borrell, has called for February 27 the high-level meeting between the prime minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, and the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic.

"Participation has been confirmed by the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vu?i?, and the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti", the European Union communiqué states.

The EU said that at this meeting, the topic of discussion will be the European proposal for the full normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia.

Fillimisht Borrell dhe i dërguari i BE-së për dialogun Kosovë-Serbi, Mirosllav Lajçak, do të takohen me liderët, dhe më pas do të ketë një takim të përbashkët.

Kurti dhe Vuçiç nuk kanë zhvilluar takim në kuadër të dialogut të Brukselit që nga nëntori i vitit 2022.

Vitin e kaluar, Kosovës dhe Serbisë iu dorëzua propozimi evropian, apo siç njihet edhe si propozimi franko-gjerman.

Palët kanë konfirmuar se e pranojnë këtë dokument, por ai nuk është bërë publik.

Megjithatë, në një draft që e ka parë Radio Evropa e Lirë, aty nuk përmendet në mënyrë specifike njohja, por parashihen të drejta të barabarta për Kosovën dhe Serbinë, respektim i integritetit territorial, paprekshmëri e kufijve, njohje e simboleve shtetërore dhe një aranzhim i veçantë për komunitetin serb në Kosovë.

Kosovo and Serbia started negotiations mediated by the European Union in 2011.

The parties have different goals regarding the final agreement that is intended to be reached in this process. Kosovo insists on mutual recognition, while Serbia seeks a compromise solution, without specifying what kind of compromise it is./REL
