"Kurti and Vu?i? will meet on Saturday", The Guardian: Efforts to
Albin Kurti and Aleksandër Vucic

The Guardian has dedicated an article to Kosovo-Serbia relations, where it writes that the efforts to revive the talks between the two countries have started after the leaders of the two countries and the high envoys of the USA and the EU have planned to meet on Saturday.

This will be the first time that the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vu?i?, and the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, have agreed to meet with an international delegation since the shootings at a monastery in the north of Kosovo last month. leaving three attackers and a Kosovar policeman dead.

The meetings were set up after a flurry of diplomacy involving senior officials in the US, France, Germany, Italy and the EU.

The spokesperson of the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Josep Borrell, said: "The purpose of the visit is to make concrete progress in the implementation of the agreement on the road to normalization and de-escalation after recent developments."

He said he had "clear expectations" that the parties would resume normalization talks "without delays or conditions".

After the attack on the monastery, the Kosovar police discovered a large cache of weapons, enough to arm hundreds.

Pristina alleges that Belgrade financed and supported the ambush by well-armed Serbian paramilitaries near the village of Banjska and also ordered a troop build-up at the border.

Vucic has denied involvement in the attack and this week a Serbian politician was arrested, who admitted that he had participated in the deadly fight, but we must also remember that a day of mourning was held for the aggressors who lost their lives in the attack on the Kosovo police . / CNA
