The Serbian parliament was engulfed in violence and chaos on Tuesday as the opposition attacked its opponents with flares inside the chamber. Three MPs were hospitalized with injuries, and President Aleksandar Vucic recently reacted to the incident.

The latter emphasized that this day was one of the most difficult for Serbia, adding that such scenes had not been seen in the last 35 years since the multi-party system was established.

"Today is a difficult day for Serbia, for every normal citizen of this country. We are witnessing something that we have not seen since the establishment of the multi-party system, that is, in the last 35 years. In the last 35 years, nothing like this has happened: This is a case of bullying, hooligan behavior.

"I demand criminal and legal responsibility. I have good news, and it is that Sonja Ilic, who is 8 months pregnant and is from Gracanica, is fine, and the child is fine. She and her husband are facing difficulties. Thank you to all the deputies and especially thank you Ana Brnabic, who behaved like a hero." /CNA
