Russia has lost nearly 50,000 soldiers killed or wounded during the invasion of Ukraine and nearly 1,700 tanks have been destroyed, the head of Britain's armed forces said.

But Admiral Tony Radakin told the BBC on July 17 that any speculation that the losses could bring down the government of Russian President Vladimir Putin was just "wishful thinking".

"I think some of the comments that he is not well or someone is really going to kill him or remove him from power are just wishful thinking," he said, referring to Putin.

“Si profesionistë ushtarakë, ne shohim një regjim relativisht të qëndrueshëm në Rusi. Presidenti Putin ka qenë në gjendje të shuajë çdo opozitë. Ne shohim një hierarki që është e investuar te presidenti Putin dhe kështu që askush që është në krye nuk ka motivim për ta sfiduar presidentin Putin”, shtoi Radakin.

“Dhe kjo është e zymtë”.

Shefi i ushtrisë britanike tha se me ngecjet në Ukrainë, forcat tokësore të Rusisë tani paraqesin më pak kërcënim sesa që paraqisnin para se të niste lufta.

Përveç humbjeve në personel dhe tanke, Rusisë i janë shkatërruar rreth 4.000 mjete të blinduara luftarake që prej pushtimit të 24 shkurtit, tha shefi i ushtrisë britanike.

"But Russia continues to be a nuclear power. It has cyber capabilities, it has space capabilities, and especially it has underwater programs or it can threaten to attack the cables that are under water that allow information to flow around the world.” REL
