Armenia recognizes Kosovo passports

Kosovo authorities have announced that since December 20, Armenia recognizes all Kosovo passports, including ordinary, diplomatic and official ones.

According to them, this is an important step towards strengthening the ties and relations between citizens and institutions of both countries.

This means that citizens of Kosovo can travel to Armenia, once they are provided with a visa.

Armenia does not recognize Kosovo's independence – declared in February 2008 – mainly because of the implications for its own territorial claims.

Kosovars can travel without visas to more than 50 countries of the world, while they can be provided with visas upon arrival in dozens more.

According to official data, Kosovo's citizenship is recognized by 117 countries, including the United States and most of the member countries of the European Union./ REL
