Gunshot murder in Kosovo

A serious incident occurred today in Klina, Kosovo. A person shot and killed his brother, who died as a result.

The victim was rushed to the Peja hospital, but did not survive the injuries he sustained. According to police, the incident occurred after an argument between them.

"Around 15:10, the police were notified that, after an argument between two brothers, one of them shot the other with a gun. The victim was taken to the Klina emergency room and then headed to Peja Hospital. Shortly before leaving for UCCK for medical treatment, the victim unfortunately passed away, " said the Police Spokesperson for the Peja region, Fadil Gashi, to the media.

According to the Basic Prosecution Office of Peja and the Kosovo Police, the perpetrator was immediately arrested at the scene for the criminal offense of "Aggravated Murder". Meanwhile, the causes of the murder are still unknown, and further details are expected to be revealed.

"The Kosovo Police at the scene arrested the suspect, who, by order of the State Prosecutor, was detained for 48 hours on suspicion of the criminal offense of "Aggravated Murder". All relevant police units, the State Prosecutor from the Serious Crimes Department, who seized the weapon suspected of being used in the case and other relevant evidence, have arrived at the scene. By order of the State Prosecutor, the victim's body is being sent to the Institute of Forensic Medicine for an autopsy. The Basic Prosecution in Peja, in coordination with the Regional Investigations of the Kosovo Police in Peja, will undertake all necessary investigative actions to fully clarify this case ," the Prosecution's announcement states. /CNA
