Camping holidays in Albania are not only a good alternative, but also the cheapest in Europe, with a price of 13.52 euros for one night's stay.
The camping portal www.camping.info*, which is one of the main European sources of information on camping holidays, has evaluated the prices of over 20,000 European campsites in 34 countries.
The price range for a night of camping varies from 13 to 39 euros for two people in the peak of the season, including pitch, caravan, electricity and local taxes.
Compared to a year ago, camping prices in Europe have increased by 4.45%, while in Germany, campers can expect a price increase of 6.5%.
“Camping is very much in fashion at the moment and the industry is booming. If you want to secure your stand space with the best price/performance ratio, you have to book well in advance, or if you remember at the last minute you can expect higher prices or even fully booked seats," explains Maximilian Möhrle. , CEO of camping.info.
While camping in Switzerland topped the price list last year, Italy (€39.24) will be the most expensive camping destination in 2024.
Furthermore, campers in Croatia (€38.77), Switzerland (€38.66) and Austria (€36.35) have to dig relatively deeper into their pockets for their camping holidays. In Germany, the average price of camping is 27.52 euros per night.
Campers will pay more than 17 euros for a night's stay at a campsite in North Macedonia (€16.78), Turkey (€14.59) and Albania (€13.52). According to the platform, the best campsite in Albania is "Campingu Pa embe", located in Karpen.
