IMF and World Bank Meetings/ Governor Sekjo: In 2026, target for sustainable economic pace

The Governor of the Bank of Albania, Gent Sejko, participated in the Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group held in Washington.

Through a statement, the Bank of Albania announced that the meetings in the US capital were held to discuss the latest developments in the global economy.

As part of these activities, Governor Sejko held a series of important meetings with well-known personalities in the international financial field.

During these meetings, Sejko briefed the IMF and WB representatives on the latest economic and financial developments in the country, as well as their perspective for the future, the monetary policy pursued by the Bank of Albania, and the measures taken to preserve and strengthen the health of the banking sector and the country's financial stability.

Regarding long-term economic goals, Governor Sejko emphasized that economic growth is expected to maintain a stable pace, while inflation is expected to reach the target level in 2026./CNA
