IMF lowers Albania's GDP growth forecast for 2025 to 3.4%

The International Monetary Fund announced this Tuesday that it has lowered Albania's gross domestic product growth projection for 2025 to 3.4%, from 3.8% in the previous forecast.

However, the IMF has raised Albania's GDP growth forecast for 2026 by 0.1 percentage point to 3.6%, according to the October edition of the World Economic Outlook.

Average consumer price inflation in Albania is projected to increase to 2.3% in 2025 from 2.2% in 2024.

The IMF has thus lowered its April forecast by 0.1 percentage point. Inflation is expected to rise further to 2.8% in 2026.

The IMF also said it expects the economy of Emerging and Developing Europe to expand by 1.8% in 2025, revising its April forecast by 0.3 percentage points. The region's output grew by 3.5% last year./CNA
