"DIVA" Declaration/ Today is the deadline for Albanian taxpayers

Today, March 31st, is the deadline for submitting the Annual Personal Income Tax Declaration, DIVA 2024.

The Tax Administration reminds resident and non-resident individuals who, during 2024: have an annual gross salary of over 1.2 million lek, are dual-employed, at least for one tax period within the year, and generate income from other sources of over 50 thousand lek per year for which no withholding tax has been withheld.

They must complete the "Annual Personal Income Declaration", as a legal obligation of the individual, subject to the declaration.

It is expected that the number of DIVA 2024 declarants will be over 144 thousand individuals, considering that with the entry into force of the new law, with the reduction of the limit from 2 million to 1.2 million, the number of declarants is expected to be much higher than in previous years.

The Tax Administration announces that the DIVA 2024 declaration is automatically generated and pre-filled with data on gross annual income from salaries or bonuses from employment relationships for individuals, as well as with the calculation of Employment Income Tax.

The above-mentioned fields, although generated pre-filled, will continue to be free and changeable fields, so that the declarant has the opportunity to verify and change them. Also, the value paid during the year in terms of Employment Income Tax will be a pre-filled field. /CNA
