The Minister of Finance and Economy, Delina Ibrahimaj, at the year-end conference, was asked about cyber attacks on banks.

According to Ibrahimaj, such a thing has happened, but there is no room for concern, as citizens' accounts have not been affected.

 "There have been reports that the banking sector has been attacked by cyber attacks. I want to assure you that there are over 1 million attacks per month, which are daily attacks, either in the private system or in the public sector. So now the cyber war is a war which is tangible, which affects every sector, public and private, critical and non-critical infrastructure. The bank in question has made its communications and based on the communications we had with the governor of the Bank of Albania, there was no touching of individuals' accounts", said Ibrahimaj.

According to her, the banking sector is one of those sectors that has taken measures early on, regarding cyber attacks and cyber security. /CNA.al
