Construction is the sector that is keeping our economy alive. Only in the first part of the year, the municipalities have granted 736 permits, the construction cost of which reaches 560 million euros.

1.7 million square meters is the area approved for construction throughout the country, the first part of 2022.

Compared to the first part of 2021, there are 600,000 more square meters of land that is being occupied by construction.

The data collected by INSTAT show that 736 permits were issued throughout the country, of which 207 were issued only in Tirana.

Durrës comes second with 55 construction permits, while Berati and Dibra are the counties with the lowest number of permits, with 9 of them.

The area granted for construction permits in the capital, in monetary value, reaches 350 million euros, while in the entire territory, 560 million.

The Albanian economy has grown by around 6% this year, and despite the consumption crisis brought about by rising prices, construction and real estate trade have been the sectors that have maintained the main weight of growth./euronews
