The head of PAA, Agron Duka has denounced an environmental crime that according to him happened in Shijak.

In a statement to the media, Duka announced that for several days the residents of the city of Shijak and not only, are living amid the smog created by the burning of urban waste.

"Investigate the environmental crime committed against the residents of Shijak!

For several days, the residents of the city of Shijak and not only, have been living amid the smog created by the burning of urban waste.

The same scheme has been restored, when the waste is burned at night, so as not to be seen by the citizens.

The images show a cloud of smoke occupying the space, turning it into a serious danger to the health of citizens.

The residents themselves have filmed and denounced this situation.

As an MP in that area, I join their concern and call for measures to be taken immediately to end this practice of "waste management".

Burning waste in public spaces is already an environmental crime, so I urge law enforcement agencies to investigate these cases. "- declared Agron Duka./ CNA.al
