The most important road and with the highest traffic flow, the Tirana-Durres axis is expected to undergo complete reconstruction very soon.

The works for the expansion of the Tirana-Durres highway, where there is an increased flow during the weekends and in the summer season due to the flow of citizens going to the coast, will start in the third week of June.

The head of ARRSH, Genti Gjyli announced that two procurement procedures for the expansion of Tirana-Durra have already been planned, while the evaluation of competing companies has been completed.

He told the media that so far there have been no complaints and the contract will be concluded within June, and then the expansion works will begin.

"ARRSH has foreseen two procurement procedures for the expansion of Tirana-Durra. The evaluation of competing companies has been completed. So far there are no complaints. Within the month of June, the contract is signed and we start the works for the expansion. The Tirana-Durres road has over 80,000 vehicles per day, together with the company we will focus the work at night to make the entrances and exits to the construction site of heavy vehicles and during the day we will be on the expansion works", said the head of ARRSH- of.

Asked about the works in the summer season, Gjyli said that this segment is the same every day and that there is no period of the year with less load.

"For Tirana-Durres, it's the same every day. There is no off-peak period for this route. The old way is to focus on the works at night", he emphasized.

The entire project costs 250 million euros in both directions. According to the director of ARRSH, if there is funding from the government, this road will be finished in 3 years./ CNA
