The vote for the election of the Chairman and members of the Regulatory Commission of the Central Election Commission has been postponed to the next plenary session.

This was announced in a statement from the Assembly, which states that during the voting process in yesterday's session, the opposition had left the parliament.

"The voting on these agenda items pertaining to the selection of the Chairman and members of the Regulatory Commission of the Central Election Commission is related to a decision-making previously agreed upon between the parliamentary groups of the majority and the opposition, which was scheduled to be voted on at the session of October 30, 2025.

During the voting process in this session, the opposition had left the hall and despite the political agreement reached between the majority and the opposition in advance, for the names proposed by the Special Parliamentary Committee for the review and selection of candidates for the Regulatory Commission of the Central Election Commission, the necessary quorum of 3/5 of the members was not reached.

"At the end of the session, the President of the Assembly determined the lack of the necessary quorum for the approval of these draft decisions, consulted with the members of the Secretariat for Procedures, Voting and Ethics and notified the Assembly services that the voting on these agenda items should be repeated in the next session ," the Assembly's announcement states. /CNA
