The Minister of Finance, Delina Ibrahimaj, announced after the government meeting that a minimum salary of 40,000 new leks was approved for the public and private sectors.

Among other things, it has approved a change in the law on the promotion of employment. This VKM obliges all private businesses to employ persons with disabilities.

"We approved an amendment to the law for promoting employment, establishing equality for social issues. It is related to the social employment fund, all businesses with a high number of employees must employ disabled people. This is about all employers who have high numbers of employees. We will provide a procedure, which will be active from January 2024. We will give time to the tax administration and businesses to implement this law. They will have to hire people with disabilities, or pay with contributions equal to the minimum wage for every person who does not employ people with disabilities", said Ibrahimaj./ CNA.al
