Investigations into the privatization of army properties/ SPAK seizes the

SPAK has placed the naval base in Saranda under preventive seizure.

This decision taken by the Special Prosecutor's Office against Crime and Corruption is related to a media denunciation by Artur Meçollarit about the privatization of army properties.

In relation to this matter, the former Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, currently a deputy of the SP, Bardhyl Kollçaku, was presented to SPAK, where the whistleblower Meçollari was also questioned.

The former deputy chief of the naval forces, in March 2021, accused all high-ranking officials, including the former Minister of Defense at the time, Olta Xhaçka, and President Begaj.

Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Xhaçka also received a summons from the Prosecutor's Office in the capacity of having knowledge of the event. 

The denunciation by Meçollari was made for two properties, one in Shengjin and one in Saranda, which, according to him, were given to private individuals without permission.
