Country under the power of flames/ MM: 7 fires are still active

The Ministry of Defense has provided information on the fire situation in the country, with 7 out of 13 registered fires still active.

The outbreaks remain active in the villages of Navaricë, Leshnicë e Poshtme and Tragjas in Vlora, Mallakastër, the village of Malaj i Epërm in Lezha, and Mali i Bërzhitës in Tirana.

During the last few hours, 13 fires have been identified, of which 6 have been extinguished and 7 are active.

Vlora Region

In the village of Navaricë, the fire has moved towards the mountain above the village. In the village of Leshnicë e Poshtme, after work and intervention from the air, the danger to the homes has been averted. In support of the forces on the ground, the Air Force helicopter and two Fireboss aircraft, which came from Sweden, operated, which carried out 44 (2x22) drops.

Tragjas village, Orikum administrative unit, Vlora municipality. The fire is developing in an area with bushes and low vegetation. 17 officers from the Vlora MZSH and 3 from the Forest Service are operating in the area. There is currently no danger to homes.

Fier District

Lofkënd village, Qendër Dukas administrative unit, Mallakastër municipality. The engagement of forces on the ground and air intervention has made it possible to isolate the fire source. The fire remains active in two areas, in the southern and northwestern parts. Operation from the ground is impossible at both points. Work continues to isolate the fire source with air intervention, where the Croatian Canadair aircraft is operating.

Lezha District

Malaj Epërm village, Rrëshen administrative unit, Mirditë municipality. The fire continues to be active in a forest area with pine, oak, shrubs and dense vegetation, in a difficult terrain that does not allow for operation with water-throwing vehicles. 33 operational forces from local structures are operating in the area. The forces are mainly working on creating separation belts to prevent the spread of the fire. The area covered by the fire is preliminary estimated at 10 ha. Currently, there is no risk to residential areas.

Dibër District

In the place called "Mali i Allushit", Plan i Bardhë village, Klos municipality, the hearth of the fire extinguished days ago has been reactivated. The fire has been brought under control and does not pose a risk of spreading. There is no risk to homes.

Elbasan District

Lleshaj village, Poroçan administrative unit, Gramsh municipality. The fire is taking place in a forest area with oak trees at a remote distance and difficult terrain on the border with the Përrenjas municipality. It has been worked during the day and the fire source has been completely isolated. The fire source is being monitored by Forest Service employees to prevent possible reactivation.

Tirana District

Mountain of Bërzhitës, administrative unit of Bërzhitë, municipality of Tirana. The fire is developing in an area with dense vegetation. 15 forces from the Tirana MZSH are working on the ground. Work to extinguish the fire continues. There is no danger to homes./ CNA
