In addition to the arrested mayor of Tirana, the leader of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, has also complained from the cell.

Both have expressed their complaints, following allegations raised by Sali Berisha and Mero Baze about their treatment, and in fact, the only people who have publicly requested that Veliaj and Meta have more rights and be treated specifically, Veliaj, as an ordinary prisoner and Meta, as a political prisoner.

Baze and Berisha have stated that Veliaj was treated inhumanely, while Meta said that he should not be in prison and that he was treated negatively.

In fact, the only negative treatment meted out to Meta is his arrest by the State Police and Operational Forces, following a court decision, where he was also raped.

The 'inhumane' treatment that was meted out to Veliaj is the fact that in order to protect him more than necessary and in a special way, they did not even handcuff him on the day of his arrest, when they took him out of the office, while they dragged Meta away.

Both of them have the biggest concern that they are being guarded by many police officers.

Veliaj, for the fact that many prison employees accompanied him when he went to the hospital, while Meta said that there are many police officers when he goes out for air.

The second one knows very well the reason why he is being checked by many police officers, as before his arrest it was seen that he had problems with his behavior.
