Smoking and flaming/ The eighth protest in front of Tirana City Hall ends (PHOTO)

On Wednesday, the eighth protest took place in front of the Municipality of Tirana, where hundreds of citizens demanded the resignation of the head of the Municipality, Erion Veliaj. The protest lasted 1 hour and 30 minutes. 

During the protest, flares and smokestacks were thrown, while there were moments when the protesters also clashed with the police forces. 

The latter were numerous in number and were placed as a fence around the Municipality of Tirana.

The Municipal Councilors were not allowed to enter the premises of the Municipality this time either. 

In his speech, the political leader of the DP for Tirana, Belind Kelliçi, warned that in the coming days he will publish new documents about Erion Veliaj's affairs and legal violations. 

He also confirmed CNA's news that SPAK has launched a property investigation against mayor Erion Veliaj and his family members, namely Veliaj's brother and his wife, Ajola Xoxa./CNA
