The head of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, spoke about the scandal of the mayor Erion Veliaj with the rented cars worth 2.7 million euros.

Berisha has warned Veliaj that the thieves of Tirana Municipality will not be able to sit in the cars paid for by citizens' taxes.

"Dear friends, here last night it was denounced that Erion Veliaj leased a series of cars for 2.7 million euros with a more expensive lease in three years than if they were bought new.

There is no more heinous economic crime than this, leasing 2.7 million euros of cars at a higher price than buying them new means stealing at least 70 percent of that money, at one time when I guarantee you that apart from the elected, no one will have a state car. No one will be able to have a state car except for the elected, those voted by the citizens and the leaders of the constitutional institutions. Forget it, you couch potato, that you will be able to sit in cars paid by Albanian citizens. None!
