Albania, over 1 million vehicles in circulation / Tirana leads

INSTAT has published statistics on road vehicles in circulation. According to data in the fourth quarter of 2025, the number of road vehicles in circulation in the territory of Albania was 1,048,092. Among them, cars constitute 80.8% of the total vehicles, followed by motorcycles with 6.1% and mixed transport vehicles with 5.8%.

Tirana accounts for the largest share with 34.7% of total assets, followed by Durrës with 13.6%.

Meanwhile, Gjirokastra and Kukës have the lowest number of vehicles, with 2.1% and 2.4%, respectively.

During this quarter, 24,854 vehicles were registered for the first time, of which 81.2% were cars. Once again, the Tirana region leads with 40.3% of new registrations.

Changes compared to the same quarter of 2024:

• The total number of vehicles has increased by 9.3%.

• New registrations have increased by 8.5%.

In vehicles registered for the first time, Volkswagen holds the first place with 18.6%, followed by Mercedes Benz with 17.5%./ CNA
