Protest of student associations erupts in Greece/ 16 people injured

ELAS has issued a statement regarding the incidents that occurred at noon on Friday during the protest of civil and student associations, on the occasion of the passage of the draft law on non-state universities.

As noted, at 14:50, while marching towards Stadiou street, a group of about 20 people broke away and attacked the police forces at the intersection of Stadiou and Eduardo Lo streets, throwing at least 10 molotov cocktails at them.

Likewise, a group of about 50 people in Othonos on Vasilissis Amalias Avenue attacked police forces with Molotov cocktails and stones.

As a result of the incidents, 7 policemen and 9 civilians were injured, while 14 people have been escorted so far and 3 other people have been arrested. / CNA
