Shkullaku: With the death of Ardi Gjoklaj in Sharre, Veliaj should have fallen

Analyst Armand Shkullaku spoke tonight about Erion Veliaj's scandals and the necessity of his removal from the Municipality of Tirana.

Shkullak stated that the fall of Veliaj no longer depends on feats, actions or deeds, but depends on circumstances and coincidences.

"Veliaj should have fallen since he was the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, when he had a marathon wedding, once in Gjirokastër, then in Peza, etc., becoming like those players or "rock stars", when in fact he was a politician chosen.

If he said I did it with my own money, an analysis would be done and he would be dismissed. If he meant they gave me a gift, when did he give it to him? Erion Veliaj said that he did it with his mother's money and it was passed off as a funny story. Veliaj should have fallen in the case of the tragic event of the death of Ardi Gjoklaj in the Sharra landfill.

Veliaj should have fallen when, on the day he was operated on in the hospital, he went out and planted trees. So he treats that citizen as an idiot. And who is the worst: well the one who does it, for propaganda, but also those who broadcast it.

There is no more discreet politician, he is deceiving the citizens", said Shkullaku.

The analyst also raised questions about the total lack of response from civil society or even from the media and journalists themselves.

"We are at a critical point in democracy, we have crossed the line of total collapse into an autocracy where only propaganda has value. If there were free elections, I don't believe anyone would vote for this with this kind of mockery of public money and people. But we don't have free elections here, because they steal Albania to steal votes", said Shkullaku.

The analyst then said that there is nothing left to damage on that scale to recover.

"We are the only city where sewage passes through the city and no one is impressed. A terrible thing could happen to the construction bubble. If the bubble bursts, people will lose. I'm not saying that Albanians don't see them and don't look at them, but they are powerless. The census shows Albania 1.6 million residents, remove the third age and children, it is a very small part that can wake up the rest. Rama has done the damage, we have never before had a Government that has a budget of this size, we have a debt of this size and we have investments in infrastructure in this state", said Shkullaku./ CNA
