Dissensions within the Freedom Party are confirmed. Endrit Braimllari has released the leader of PL, Ilir Meta, by resigning.

Through a long message on social networks, Braimllari confirms the cracks and clashes within PL.

Braimllari writes that, finding himself unable to perform the function of party vice president, due to internal factors, he has decided to resign from this function.

I resign from the position of Vice President of the Freedom Party.

I thank all the members of the party for the support they have given me in these 19 years.

Dear members of the National Steering Committee, I am addressing you as the institution that has elected me to the position of vice president of the Freedom Party. We have been together with some of you for 19 years. Together, we have gone through various challenges and battles, difficult and good times, but what has brought us together has been cooperation, solidarity and team spirit.

I take the opportunity to thank each and every one of you, every founder and fellow traveler of our political action.

In these 19 years, time had no meaning for us, the hours and days flew by quickly, in organization, in meetings and in the campaign. We have met early mornings, late dinners, staying up all sleepless nights to advance our fundamental issues. These 19 years have been a fantastic experience, where we grew up within the structures of the Socialist Movement for Integration. We were guided by the feeling and thought of being a family, where for the most part we sacrificed and stood at the forefront of every battle.

As I was writing this letter, I remembered the first day when I started the commitment in the Socialist Movement for Integration. At that time I was a 16-year-old high school student full of energy, passion and dreams for the future. Today, after 19 years, I am the father of two daughters and now I can understand that all our sacrifice has fallen on the family and we all owe a lot to her for the incredible support.

Work in these 19 years has introduced me to many members and sympathizers from south to north, from east to west, and in each of them I have felt a maximum commitment, where unlike other political forces what motivated us was the positive energy of the team and the strength our common to face every battle.

During 19 years, I held high positions in the party.

I thank the president Ilir Meta for the opportunity given over the years.

In all my functions I have been guided by the spirit of cooperation, solidarity and meritocracy. I appreciated the work in the field and the daily communication as an opportunity to keep in touch with all of you and to share together our problems of the political family but not only. In many cases I have been the balancer of our internal problems, with the utmost conviction that the party needs everyone and the party belongs to everyone.

I feel proud that as the chairman of the Youth Forum we gave life to an action where, with thousands of young people throughout Albania, we turned LRI into the strongest youth organization in the country and beyond. Our work with youth throughout Albania brought us closer to each other, becoming a solid structure.

With the greatest pleasure I say that today many fellow travelers of the youth forum continue to give their contribution to the party.

In my memory, the year 2008 was and will be unforgettable as the battle for the defense of the Constitution was just. Together with thousands of young people, we had to protest for days and spread door to door, our just cause.

The year 2017 for me and for all of you, faced us with a difficult challenge, where a part chose power, we continued the opposition.

We faced a strong existential battle for the country, parliamentarism and the opposition itself.

There, clearly, the real oppositionists were shown who did not see personal interest but were guided by the common interest to strengthen the party in a strong opposition, showing a strong axis of opposition resistance.

In the 6 years that I held the position of General Secretary of LSI, together with many colleagues, we gave pace to the party and the opposition by becoming a strong voice for the protection of citizens' interests in Parliament and on the streets. We have organized hundreds of national and local protests. I can't forget, over 10 national protests, over two years of protests at Unaza e Re, where every day I and some colleagues were personally committed to the protection of residents. Unforgettable for me is the protest of the residents of Kukës where many colleagues and I moved there in defense of the civic interest, the protest in defense of the National Theater where it turned into a real civic battle.

I cannot forget the countless hours, in the police station, the prosecutor's office and the court in support of the citizens who believed and joined the cause of the opposition and for this reason were abused by the government.

For this period, I want to thank Monika Kryemadhi, who in her role as the president was at the forefront of this action and why in our most difficult moments, giving heart and rhythm to our opposition action.

In the general elections of 2021, I took the responsibility of the political leader for the Korça District.

Political and non-political circumstances make it impossible to get the mandate in this district. Personally, I did my best, I gave all my contribution and experience in an unprecedented campaign. I was the first in the battle and in the daily denunciations against the abuse of power. For me, the team comes first. The sublime sacrifice of those who supported LSI in the Korça district deserved and will always have my support. For me, even today, that campaign continues to have its cost, wandering through the doors of the courts on endless legal proceedings politically initiated against me by political opponents during the campaign. But I feel proud even today that I believed in a young team, which did not disappoint and is promising for the future.

Dear member of the National Steering Committee, finding it impossible to perform the function of the party's vice president, due to internal factors, I have decided to resign from this function.

I am the first to take a few steps back to show that unity with each other is important to me.

I will continue with maximum dedication my commitment as a local elected member of the Tirana municipal council to be the voice of the citizens and to protect their rights, to create chances and opportunities for every citizen of Tirana.
