The General Directorate of Road Transport Services (DPSHTRR) has increased the fees for providing a driving license.

DPSHTRR, through an official announcement, indicates the changes in tariffs, which come into force on February 5, 2024.

Specifically:

• The fee for the device with a driving license with a validity period of 10 years, from 3,500 ALL to 4,500 ALL, but the term is now extended to 15 years.

• The fee for the driver's license for the over 65 age group, with a validity period of 5 years, from 3,500 ALL, now becomes 2,000 ALL, with a validity period of 15 years!

• The fee for the equipment with an International Driving Permit with a validity period of 1 year, from 500 ALL, which was 1,000 ALL, with a validity period of 3 years.

• The transition from Category B Driving Permit to D/D1, without the mandatory transition to category C, from ALL 2,200, becomes 0, as the testing for category C has been eliminated!

The General Directorate of Road Transport Services, for several years now, has undertaken a series of initiatives to ease many practices and bureaucracies related to the services it offers. DPSHTRR has reviewed and indexed all fees and services. A detailed analysis shows that the extension of these services in terms of time, eliminating the obligation to appear at the counter, facilitating the transition from one category to another, as well as reducing indirect expenses (calculated here at 7,569,450 round-trip kilometers, 529,862 liters of fuel, 12,616 working days/year time spent), cannot be considered as an increase in tariffs, but on the contrary results in an average saving of 4,170 ALL per citizen per year.

The examples illustrated below clearly demonstrate the above:

• The fee for the device with a driving license with a validity period of 10 years, from 3,500 ALL to 4,500 ALL, but the term is now extended to 15 years. The new fee of 4,500 ALL, distributed over years, from 350 ALL/year becomes 300 ALL/year!

• The fee for the driver's license for the over 65 age group, with a validity period of 5 years, from 3,500 ALL, now becomes 2,000 ALL, with a validity period of 15 years!

• The fee for the equipment with an International Driving Permit with a validity period of 1 year, from 500 ALL, which was 1,000 ALL, with a validity period of 3 years. The new fee of 1,000 ALL, distributed over years, from 500 ALL/year becomes 333 ALL/year!

• The transition from Category B Driving Permit to D/D1, without the mandatory transition to category C, from ALL 2,200, becomes 0, as the testing for category C has been eliminated!

189,179 citizens benefit from the change in these rates, saving you an average of 788,792,150 ALL/year. (7.7 million Euros).

This decision, regarding the change of fees for the driving license service, enters into force on February 5, 2024 and will be reflected on the official website./ CNA
