The President of Italy, Sergio Mattarella, starts today his first official visit to Albania.

President Mattarela, who is accompanied by the Minister of University and Scientific Research, Maria Cristina Messa, will be received by the President of Albania Bajram Begaj at the Palace of Brigades in Tirana.

After the meeting, the two Presidents will give a press statement.

Afterwards, President Mattarella will lay a wreath at the Statue of Mother Albania in the National Martyrs' Cemetery of Albania.

The visit will continue with the conversation with Prime Minister Edi Rama, while in the afternoon Mattarella will visit the Italian School of Tirana accompanied by the President of the Association "Dante Alighieri", Andrea Riccardi and the co-founder of the School, Concetta Marotta.

After the end, the Head of State will be received in the Assembly building by the Speaker of the Parliament Lindita Nikolla.

The visit will end with a meeting with a representative of the Italian community.
