The Chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, commented on the visit of the Greek Minister of Defense, Nikos Dendias, to the Prime Minister's Office at a press conference. Berisha said that the visit of any Greek minister is welcome.

He added that the Democratic Party supports the good neighborly relationship and cooperation between the two countries.

While speaking about the maritime issue with Greece, which is expected to be the focus of Dendias' talks with Prime Minister Edi Rama, Berisha said that he is awaiting the outcome of this meeting.

"The visit of every minister of the Greek government is welcome. We are in support of good neighborly relations. Of cooperation with neighboring countries. The problem that Dendias seems to be coming up with is the maritime agreement. The DP has condemned with the greatest force the irresponsible stance of Edi Rama and his government towards this important issue for the relations between the two countries. I emphasize that Edi Rama, on behalf of third parties, did everything to sabotage the agreement reached with the Greek side before 2013. I emphasize that it was an agreement where both parties won. Edi Rama, instead of continuing where he left off with the Greek side, after the Court of Appeals overturned it, the Greek side requested renegotiation. Greece had negotiated an agreement recognizing itself 6 km of territorial waters. Greece signed the agreement with Albania based on the law that had declared itself the recognition of 6 km of territorial waters. But if Greece declares 12 miles, everything will be overturned for Albania. The Greeks who supported a "reasonable agreement, Edi Rama says no, we will negotiate the agreement together again.
