Police warns drivers / Strict measures if children under 12 do not wear seat

The State Police has issued a warning to all drivers who may have children under the age of 12 as passengers in their vehicles.

The police ask these drivers to equip children with restraint systems, otherwise there will be penalties.

In cases where children under 12 years of age are found without a seat belt, the penalty will be a fine from 5000 to 15000 ALL.

Whereas, when the offender is the driver of the vehicle, in addition to the fine, his driving license is suspended for a period of 6 to 12 months.

" In order to create a safer environment for road users and citizens, the Traffic Police is maximally committed to identifying and punishing drivers who are found violating traffic rules.

As a result of the controls, cases of vehicle drivers carrying children under the age of 12 without restraint systems have been identified and punished.

Anyone who does not use safety belts and restraint systems, provided for passengers up to 12 years old, is punished with an administrative measure, from 5,000 to 15,000 ALL. When the offense is committed by a minor, the responsibility falls on the driver of the vehicle or on the one charged with supervising the child, when he is there at the time of the offense.

In the event that the offender is the driver of the vehicle, in addition to the first administrative measure, he is also imposed an additional administrative measure of suspension of the driving license for a period of 6 to 12 months", the police announcement states./ CNA
